Meet Our CEO

Jamie Baker
Co-Founder - CEO
James Baker is a distinguished Army veteran based in Colorado Springs, with a remarkable 14-year career in the United States Army. During his service, he spent 8 years with the Special Forces as a Weapons and Tactics Expert, including 3 years on the European Hostage Rescue and Counterterrorism team. His expertise extended to a Tactical Advisor role on a Counter IED (Improvised Explosive Device) team in Afghanistan, where he conducted battlefield forensics. Mr. Baker also served as a sniper with an Anti-Piracy team aboard a U.S.-flagged vessel operating around the Arabian Peninsula.
Beyond his military career, Mr. Baker has a robust background in security for high-profile clients during humanitarian missions, including the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake. Since 1999, he has maintained an exemplary record in providing security for various establishments throughout Colorado Springs, with no reported incidents.
In January 2011, Mr. Baker began his tenure with Global Response Security (GRS) in support of the CIA, where he was deployed to high-threat regions around the world to enhance global security operations for CIA case officers. Operating in some of the most dangerous and unpredictable environments, he specialized in low-profile protective operations, ensuring the safety of personnel in regions like the Middle East and Africa. His responsibilities also included surveillance, counter-surveillance, and crisis response—key skills needed to maintain the CIA’s covert presence in conflict zones and failed states.
During his time with GRS, Mr. Baker worked closely with small, elite teams to protect critical personnel, leveraging his background in specialized tactical training, including close-quarters combat (CQC), hostage rescue tactics, and personal protection security. His work was instrumental in managing security for high-risk missions, and his ability to integrate human intelligence (HUMINT) operations with protective measures ensured the success of various CIA operations worldwide.
From January 2011 to January 2022, Mr. Baker’s role also included teaching and vetting candidates at the GRS selection course, where he served as an instructor for tactical shooting, close-quarter battle, and hostage rescue tactics. His leadership and expertise were vital in shaping the next generation of security professionals who would operate in similarly high-risk, covert settings.
In July 2023, after transitioning out of GRS, Mr. Baker completed the Fire Academy and is now employed full-time with the Colorado Springs Fire Department. While continuing his career in firefighting, he maintains his focus on security and tactical operations through his position as CEO of Baker & King Security Services, where he offers his unparalleled expertise in both high-level security operations and emergency response.
